Angela Rennie

I am a professional and experienced counsellor. I genuinely care about clients and ensure a positive, friendly and nonjudgmental environment.

I understand we all struggle with life’s challenges at times. I can offer you a supportive and comfortable environment to help you overcome those challenges.

I provide a multi-dimensional approach tailored to the client’s individual requirements. I draw from aspects of mindfulness, cognitive and behavioural psychology, neuroscience, multi fields of psychology, CBT, Imago Therapy, and counselling principles.

My qualifications are Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Post-Graduate Diploma (Psychology), Masters of Arts (Hons) (Psychology), Masters of Health Science (Hons) (Psychology).

 I am also a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society and STING (a collaborative of sex therapists). I adhere to the Code of Ethics of the New Zealand Psychological Society.

I ensure all therapists and group facilitators working for Wholistic Counselling Services follow the same standard and ethics I expect of myself.

Tony Burne

My name is Tony. I’m a counsellor in New Plymouth.

I have worked in social services for over 20yrs. I am well skilled in working with individuals or couples to find their direction. I have been involved with complex mental health, addictions, co-existing problems, high risk family harm and management of community agencies and teams. I am:

  • well skilled with difficulties that require a well-balanced approach. I have worked with many ethnicities, ages & stages, victims and perpetrators.

  • non-judgmental, because I sincerely believe people want to have a better happy life. It just sometimes, we don’t know how to.

  • also an artist and musician, and will use art therapy as a process to release and open the doorway to healing.

  • a member of DAPAANZ and adhere to their code of ethics.

I believe in a holistic approach, which covers all aspects of your life.

I use several approaches to suit who I’m working with. I am well-grounded with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, hypnotherapy, and Te Whare Tapa Wha.

Suzy Smith-Roy

Suzy is a passionate and dedicated counselling student who grew up in Christchurch, but has called Tāmaki Makarau home for eleven years now. She has a background in drama and dance and extensive experience in teaching and directing young people. 

Through teaching and the performing arts, Suzy has developed a curiosity for human engagement, connection and relationships which has led her to want to assist others in pursuing fullness in their own life journeys.

Within her training, Suzy places emphasis on learning how to provide a warm, dynamic and open environment where clients feel supported and inspired in navigating their unique path forward.

Pierre du Sart

Hi everyone, my name is Pierre and I've studied a bachelor in counselling at Manukau institute of technology. My back ground before studying is always been in the health and wellness industry. I've been a personal trainer course team leader and a gym manager. These positions helped me transition into helping people as this has my passion for many years.
My counselling offers an non judgmental approach with upholding confidentiality as well as a culturally, safe trusting environment. I always adhere to the NZAC guidelines and taylor to your needs using a range of modalities like CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Person centered therapy.
My hobbies include fishing, hunting, diving, listening to music and most importantly spending time with my wife and three boys.

Stephanie Grant

Stephanie is a counselling student who approaches her therapy sessions in a warm, safe and empathetic way, all while finding room for a bit of light-heartedness as well. Her background ranges from yoga and meditation teaching all the way to communications and media work. Between the two lies her passion for counselling and holding space for others.

Through her work and general life experience, Stephanie has found a balance between holistic counselling and practical down to earth approaches. This equilibrium brings fresh air with her services all while staying true to what feels right for the client.

Stephanie's main mission is to help others find their inner strength & wisdom to face the challenges the human experience holds, all in a thoughtful and dedicated way.
