Addiction
You don't have to deal with addiction on your own
Addiction is a condition where a person engages in the use of substances or behaviours that result in a reward, this reward compels the person to pursue the substance/behaviours despite negative consequences.
There is scientific research that demonstrates the neurobiological features of addiction; an intense activation of reward and reinforcement pathways involving dopamine. Most addictions increase the likelihood of stress, anxiety, and depression. Addictions also negatively impact motivation, memory, daily activities, work obligations, social circles, and relationships.
